The Bookworm Tag

Louise: Yeah, we’re doing this again.

Twi: LET ANARCHY REIGN!

Louise: So, we weren’t tagged by name for this, but-

Twi: What do you mean by name?

Louise: Like, they didn’t say: oh hey, Bookish Productions is tagged for this. They did what we did last time.

Twi: Broke the rules?

Louise:… yeah. Broke the rules.

Twi: LET THERE BE ANARCHY! So we were tagged but we weren’t tagged, interesting.

Louise: It was an open tag, so we took it.

Twi: YOU took it, if I remember distinctly.

Louise: And YOU agreed. So here we are.

RULES:

Louise: *looks at Twi*

Twi: *looks at Louise*

Twi: *opens mouth*

Louise: *quickly* The rules are simple!

FIRST AND FOREMOST: Thank and link the blogger who nominated you.

Twi: I don’t think I have another child to give them. Would they take my brother?

Louise: Don’t make this weird. Please.

Twi: Fine…*crosses fingers*

Louise: I saw that.

Louise: We’d like to thank The Sisters Three

Twi: For also breaking the tag.

Louise: No, that’s not how this works.

Twi: I’ve done this before, I know how it works.

Louise: We broke it last time, we clearly don’t know how this works.

Twi: Oh… Well. So who are we thanking again?

Louise: THE SISTERS THREE

Twi: Thank you Sisters Three!!!! I shall give you… hmmm… I shall give you my nonexistent castle!

Louise: At the rate we’re doing this she’s going to be giving a lot of non-existent stuff out to people.

Include the tag graphic in your post.

Twi: huh?

Louise: shhh.

Answer the ten questions the blogger asked.

Twi: OOOoooo, QuEsTiOnS

Nominate between five and ten bloggers.

Louise: *cough* I think we might know five.

Twi: *glances at clock* hurry and write so you don’t leave for work again and leave me by my lonesome. You might regret that.

Louise: Yeah, you’d break the tag again.

Twi: LET THERE BE-

Louise: Rule number four…

Ask your nominees ten bookish questions.

Don’t feel bound by these rules.

Louise: *raises hand* DON’T say it.

*pause*

Twi: *whispers* anarchy.

Have fun!

Twi: OH WE WILL. *evil laughter*

Louise: *tries not to smile*

QUESTIONS

Twi: Bring it on!

Louise: *flexes fingers* I’m ready!

WHICH BOOK CHARACTER DO YOU FANGIRL OVER THE MOST?

Twi: Percy Jackson. I. Will. Name. My. Son. After. HIM!!! He’s soooo awesome! I love his character! He is hilarious plus he has dyslexia like me!

Louise: I want to be there for that conversation. Honey, we’re going to name him Percy. Him: NO. *dies of laughter at the ensuing argument*

Twi: FWI his full name would be Percious.

Louise: Probably Jaron from the Ascendance Series. Or characters from friend’s books. *GASP* OH IF ONLY SHE HAD PUBLISHED ALREADY, I WOULD FANGIRL ABOUT HER CHARACTER ALLLLLL DAY. (Gabriela, if you see this, you need to send me a scene with Lucca. Just so I can fangirl about him. Again. p l e a s e.)

IF YOU COULD VISIT OR LIVE IN ANY BOOK WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE?

Twi: Imagine if someone wanted to be in the Maze Runner or the Hunger Games?

Louise: *shudders* I’d rather not think about that.

Twi: Anyway, for me….hmmm, actually I think I’d like to visit the Grishaverse.

Louise:… I would pretend I would know what that is, but that’s technically lying, so…

Louise: Wow. What an offer. Can I choose the world I created? I’d love to live in that small town. With dirt roads, ocean views, quiet streets… My main character as town leader *burst out laughing* Watching him try and fail at stunts on his infamous motorcycle would be the perfect entertainment.

WHICH BOOK DO YOU WISH YOU’D WRITTEN?

Twi: Mine. One day though! One day!

Louise: ONE DAY AFTER YOU FINISH WRITING IT. Hurry up! Cause I want to read it!

Louise: If I wrote it though, it wouldn’t be the same. Like it would have lots of hilarious moments, and like 0 romance, and like… politics. And nobody likes politics. Or at least, they don’t like politicians, so they forgo the politics in its entirety. Oh well. I’ll just surprise my readers with lots of politics that they’ll actually like. Mwahahaha.

YOU’RE THE AUTHOR OF YOUR FAVORITE BOOK/SERIES…WHICH CHARACTER WOULD YOU KILL OFF? (PRESUMABLY ONE WHO IS NOT ALREADY DEAD)

Twi: That’s a little drastic don’t you think?

Louise: *raises eyebrows*

Twi:*thinks and tries to find her violent side….finds it* In the book If You, Then Me there is this one evil mentor character who’d I’d like to see dead. Mitzy. Oh she was a real piece of work.

Louise: Are you asking me which person I want dead? That’s a little dark. I don’t like it when characters die. *says the girl who considered killing her MC, yeah, we don’t go there*

IF YOU COULD RE-WRITE THE ENDING OF ANY BOOK, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE AND HOW WOULD IT END?

Spoiler Warning!

Twi: In the Maze Runner I would make it so Newt doesn’t die. I love Newt soooo much! I’d marry Newt if I was in that universe.

Louise: Nah, you’d marry FryPan.

Twi: WHAT?! Why?

Louise: You said you want a man who can cook.

Twi:…..

Twi: FryPan is cool but he isn’t Newt.

Louise: Oy.

Twi: Did you know that the guy who plays Newt in the movies plays Ferb from Phineas and Ferb?!

Louise: No Twi, no, I didn’t know that. Oh wait. Yes I did know that. Wanna know how I know that? Cause you told me already. That’s how I know that. Did you know that?

Twi: MoViNg oN…

Louise: The Lunar Chronicles. So that Cinder didn’t abdicate. I mean, I’m all for democracy and freedom, but seriously. I mean just look at where we’re at now. Basically, Cinder had the opportunity to show Luna what a true queen looked like. One who loved her people. But she didn’t. She stepped down.

I love my country.

But Luna isn’t America.

They needed a strong leader to help them recuperate after that war. Not to be thrown into democracy with the belief that it’s simply the utopia everyone makes it out to be. Maybe after they’d stabilized, but two years isn’t enough time to do that.

(I’m not anti-democracy, but sometimes a king or queen works in a certain situation, and Cinder had the opportunity to make it work, or at least show them it was possible, to stay with them through the good and bad, not leave because she didn’t like it.)

WHICH BOOK CHARACTER REFLECTS YOUR PERSONALITY THE MOST?

Louise: Perfect segue, I’m told I’m a living breathing Cinder.

Twi: I am 100% Iko from the Lunar Chronicles.

Louise: So figures we’re besties.

Twi: *grins*

MOST HATED BOOK? (C’MON, WE ALL KNOW THERE’S AT LEAST ONE…)

Twi: The Poison Jungle. That is all I’m gonna say.

Louise: Say no more.

Louise: …I can’t think of one. Oh wait. Probably The Goose Girl. Don’t hate me, but it was so BORING. I predicated the ending to a T, and the MC was so drab and so… eye-roll female lead. I’ve got nothing against female leads, but man, they’re all so similar and uninteresting.

Twi: I loved how you used the phrase “but man” to describe your frustration about that female lead.

BOOK THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN WRITTEN BUT NEVER WAS (i.e., SEQUEL, PREQUEL, REWRITE, SUPER AWESOME STORY IDEA THAT YOU JUST CAME UP WITH)?

Twi: To choose just one though. Anyway. I’d love it if Kat Cho made the gumhio duology a trilogy by writing a sequel to Vicious Spirits. I’d love to see how old characters are doing. I’d want it to star Nara and Changwan. I’d like to see Nara get a redemption arc and to have Changwan stand up to his father.

Louise: ….Sounds like a mouthful.

Louise: I wanted to meet Jaron’s children. I wanted to see them as a family. I am miffed. Very miffed. *scoffs and crosses arms*

Twi: *snickers* miffed… Louise is miffed.

WHAT UNPOPULAR BOOKISH OPINIONS DO YOU HAVE? (LIKE, POPULAR BOOK YOU HATE, BELOVED CHARACTER YOU DESPISE, CLASSIC YOU QUESTION, etc.)

Twi: I’ve only read the first three books in this series but I low key ship Artemis Fowl and Holly Short.

Louise: That’s unpopular?

Twi: I’m not sure. Maybe for people who have read as much of the series as I have.

Louise: I’ve read supposed classic short stories (for “school” apparently they think it’s a good idea to have teenagers read that stuff) that were surprisingly disturbing.

Twi:..like horror stories or something?

Louise: Like whacky “moral” tales.

Twi: Okay. Say no more I guess.

Twi: Welp! That’s an end to this tag folks!

Louise: A very fun tag it was.

Twi: Was it?

Louise: It was.

Twi: Was it not?

Louise: It was–wait. No! It was fun! Argh, Twi!!!

Twi: Hehe.

Louise: You forgot about the questions though…

Twi: *stops laughing* oh.

Louise: Yeah… *awkwardly long pause*

Twi: Well don’t let me stop you, Miss rule carrier.

Louise: *rolls eyes* We’ll each come up with five questions, and then we’ll each nominate two-and-a-half bloggers.

Twi: *confogulated* How do you nominate two and a half bloggers?

Louise: You’ll nominate two, then start the third, I’ll finish the third and nominate two more.

Twi: You’re making this really complicated.

Louise: Touche, now on with the questions!

Twi: *pauses* wait, you speak French?! Is that how you know that French cuss word you dirty mouthed sinner?

Louise: *bops Twi on the head with rolled up rules* I KNOW, because I heard it, and looked it up, and found out that it wasn’t a cuss word, it was taking the Lord’s name in vain… and I didn’t say it, I told someone else not to say it.

Twi: How the heck did you know how to spell it!?

Louise: *looks Twi dead in the eyes* I have an unnatural gift.

Twi: *looks to audience* We better hurry, she’s starting to feel sarcastic…

Louise: DID YOU EVER READ A BOOK TWICE IN A ROW?

Twi: I might have read Scarlet from the Lunar Chronicles twice in a row while waiting to have enough money to buy Cress and Winter.

Louise: Dedication.

Louise: I listened to the False Prince twice in a row.

Twi: Uh-huh. No surprises there.

Twi: WHAT WOULD YOU RETITLE A BOOK YOU LIKE AND WHY?

Twi: Wouldn’t it be funny and fitting if instead of Percy Jackson and The Sea of Monsters it would be Percy Jackson VS The Sea of Monsters? Sounds more like our main character.

Louise:  I never really pick up a book and think: man this is a lame title. Maybe the cheesy romances I read now and again (sorry romantic lovers, Cinder personality coming through). They’re always like: Noble, Courage, Love, Forever, Secrets, Kings, Queens, and on and on and on and on and on… *sighs* But it’s not really that bad.

Louise: WOULD YOU BUY A BOOK JUST BECAUSE THE COVER IS BEAUTIFUL?

Louise: *cough cough*

Twi: I love hardbacks but sometimes I’ll get the paperback because the cover is better. Like for Mortal Engines.

Twi: PAPERBACK, HARDBACK, AUDIOBOOK, OR EBOOK

Twi: Hardbacks are bomb.

Louise: Ebooks are the worst.

Twi: Next to being stuck in a mine shaft with no way out. Oh, pardon me, I mean standing around at the mall entrance waiting for your friends to get there.

Louise: “Dis, dis is bad, but dat! Dat is de worst!”

Twi: WHAT IS THE NAME YOU WOULD CHOOSE IF YOU COULD NAME THE CHILD OF A CHARACTER YOU LIKE?

SPOLIERS!!

Twi: In the last book in the Lunar Chronicles characters Cinder and Kai got engaged. Haray! If I had to choose a name for their first born, I’d choose the name Pheonix. Don’t look at me that way Louise! There is a short story in the Lunar Chronicles anthology, Stars Above, we see how Cinder got her name. Scarlet’s grandmother named renamed her Cinder because she had been saved from the ashes and had survived. Something like that anyway. Given what has happened to Cinder and Kai the name Pheonix would show how they are their worlds have risen from the ashes victorious, granting hope for a bright future. Also, Pheonix is a unisex name so whether their kid is a boy or girl it would work.

Louise:… *blinks slowly* I mean, Victory would work just as well.

Twi: But it isn’t as epic or warm as Pheonix. Also, I dislike the nickname Vickie, no offense to someone who goes by that name.

Louise: So, don’t let them call her Vicky.

Twi: Pheonix symbolizes more.

Louise: So does Victory.

Twi: Victory is so drab and Pheonix shows how they all rose from the ashes of chaos and destruction to give a brighter future. Also, Emperor Pheonix or Empress Pheonix has a nice ring to it especially since that person would be ruling Asia.

Louise: But this is a person, not a bird.

Twi: It is also a name. Think of all the water relate names, like Brook. A brook is a part of a landscape not a person.

Louise: But Pheonix just sounds so weird.

Twi: This is my answer not yours, so leave me and my awesome names alone!

Louise: *at a loss* But… commentary.

*difference of opinion alert*

Louise: *forgets every couple from every book she’s ever read* Um… Lady Olivia and what’s-his-name… I’d name their kid… um… Nevaeh.

Twi: Pfft. *rolls eyes* OH. YEAH. SURE.

Louise: WHEN A CHARACTER SAYS SOMETHING YOU DON’T LIKE, HAVE YOU EVER MOCKED THEM OUT OF ANNOYANCE?

Twi: oddly specific.

Louise: *clears throat, waiting*

Twi: I will always mock Mrs. Bennet for saying “Oh my nerves!”

Louise: “Capitol, capitol.”

Twi: WHAT IS THE IDEAL LENGTH OF A SERIES FOR YOU?

Twi: It depends on the story and what type of series it is. I must say that reading a standalone can be nice after reading nothing but series. Duologies can be great to, but nothing beats a trilogy.

Louise: Nothing. N. O. T. H. I. N. G.

Twi: *sighs* She’s tired. She’s reacting immaturely.

Louise: Ten books… at least.

Twi: *chokes*

Louise: HAVE YOU EVER SECRETLY ENJOYED A HATED CLICHE?

Twi: Yes and no.

Louise: *utter confusion*

Twi: What?

Lousie: You’d be terrible at yes or no question and answer sessions.

Twi: I’d just say yes and no.

Twi: WHAT IS A SERIES YOU WANT TO READ THAT IS HIGH ON YOUR TBR?

Twi: I recently started reading a book called An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, it’s the first in a series of four books. I’ve really been wanting to read this series for a while, but I waited until I owned more than just the first book. Now I own the first three and hope to buy the fourth one soon. So far, I love it!

Louise: *nods approvingly*

Louise: Peter Nimble And His Fantastic Eyes, and its sequel: Sophie Quire.

Twi: Of course. Of course.

Louise: IF YOU COULD CHOOSE FIVE CHARACTERS TO PUT IN A BOOK TOGETHER, WHO WOULD THEY BE AND WHY?

Twi: I’d think it’d be cool to see characters like Lore from Lore, Tusko from Rebel Seoul, Nikoli from the Grishaverse, Helene from and Ember in the Ashes, and Miyoung from Wicked Fox be thrust into the Hunger Games together. Lore can fight like nobody’s business, Tusko has super strength and telepathy, Nikoli is really smart and witty, Helene can kick butt and look good doing it, and Miyoung would be a force to reckon with. They’d all annoy each other and banter but they’d become friends in the end. I hope.

Louise: Please include a punctuation guide.

Louise: Ummm… Why’d I ask this question again? Oh, yeah, okay, so I’d have Jaron from The False Prince, Picket from the Green Ember, Edmund from Narnia, Jareth from Crown of Secrets, and Newt from the Maze Runner, and put them all in the Maze. Picket and Edmund would become friends, Jaron and Jareth would become friends, and Newt would just sort of be like the one in charge to make sure no one gets seriously injured.

Twi:… Um. I don’t know why, but that’s very unsurprising.

Louise: I just wish I could put Lance in there, make it even more hilarious.

Twi: Oh no you don’t. *pulls Louise away from the idea before they both end up sitting there talking about it all day long*

NOMINATION TIME!

Twi: Do we really have to do this to them?

Louise: Yes.

Twi: *narrows eyes*

Louise: We want to see their answers to our questions, that was the whole point of asking our own questions.

Twi: *begins to question everything she’s ever known about tags*

Louise: I’ll start. Saraina Whitney. You have been tagged. *looks at Twi* Your turn.

Twi: Sisters Three, I’m sorry.

Louise: I think that’s technically cheating, but okay…

Twi: Oh, I forgot that they tagged us. Sorry.

Louise: *shakes head*

Twi: Um, Teen Writers Nook! Again, I am sorry.

Louise: Vanessa Hall, you are hereby tagged.

Twi: A Fangirls Hideaway, if you ever see this, I don’t know if you come on here, you’ve been tagged!

Louise: And Joelle Stone, from the Pen Inspired.

Twi: WE MADE IT!
