HOW TO HYPE UP YOUR BOOK

Hello everyone! So, are you in a rut? Do you love your book but you just ain’t feeling it. Like, you want to write but you are just….. Meh. You might even feel like you’ll never finish your story so you compensate by doing other things which only adds to your feeling of uselessness. If only you had some motivation! Well look no further than here for guidance! This blog is going to help you find ways to hype up your awesome book!

Idea#1 Fanart

As an artist and a writer most of my artworks consist of fanart. I love drawing my characters and I love it when my friends draw my characters! Even if you think yourself a horrible artist you might have a friend or two who would love to draw something from your book. Seeing a picture of something from your book is really invigorating! It makes it feel real. Also it’s cool to see what other people thing your character looks like.

Idea#2 Pinterest Boards!

Oh yes baby birds, do it!

FWI Pinterest is not just for girls, so don’t let that stop you young gentleman from investing in Pinterest and saying goodbye to many hours of your life.

I love making Pinterest boards for the books I love so why not do it for my WIPs! Pinterest is full of millions and millions of pins that can help inspire you about your book. From pictures and portraits of people that resemble your characters, to pictures of places in your book, and just making a cool aesthetic for your book, the list goes on! There are soooo many things you can do! You can collect quotes that fit your theme or character, get a better idea of what things from your novel look like for better descriptive purposes, and use Pinterest for research.

All in all I highly recommend!

Idea#3 Make A Collage

Do you want to make something to hype you up about your book but don’t want to make a mock cover or fanart? Well this is what you do. You go on Pinterest (or whatever you use), download some pics (I recommend using a mix of your characters, setting, and relevant objects), and just make a collage. That simple.

Idea#4 Make A Mock Cover

I mentioned this earlier. Basically you make a cover for your story, it doesn’t have to be the official one, it can be just for you, (like fanart). You can make a collage, draw something, or edit a bunch of pictures into one. I did this for one of my WIP’s and it actually gave me a better idea of how I want my cover to look like.

Several of my writer friends just love making cover after cover of their own (or for someone else’s)WIP.

Highly recommend.

Idea#5 Make A Screen Savor

Something that cheers me up about my WIP’s is turning on one of my devices and seeing something for my book greet me. With the amount of time the average joe spends on electronics having something that reminds you of your awesome book can really add a nice touch.

You don’t have to have any artistic talent for this. You can slap something together on apps like Canva or any other free graphics app.

Hey, you could even use your collage or mock cover!

Idea#6 Make A Playlist

I just love music! Don’t you? You can make a playlist full of songs that remind you of your characters, playlists full of songs that remind you of events of your plot, or even playlists full of instrumentals for when you bestseller becomes a movie and needs an epic track! Just go crazy! Music speaks to the soul and it can tell you about your characters soul!

Also listening to your books soundtrack while writing and matching it to what’s happening can really add something to your experience.
