Musings From An Apologetic Reader

Hey everybody!

Yeah, not cool, huh? We just disappeared, and didn’t come back for a while, didn’t even tell you we were leaving, but we’re BACK. Let’s just say… Life got hectic. And that’s all we’re gonna say, because we’re about books.

So on to books!

I have a confession, I haven’t read many books lately.

I haven’t finished a book in a while.

A youth pastor asked me what the last book I read was. I couldn’t give him an answer. Guys, I couldn’t remember

Twi was shocked to say the least.

So here I am to say that I need to get back into reading. And Twi became my reading coach, marching to my bookshelf and pulling out three options for me to choose from. She then became Sarah Twilight, campaigning for each book like it was her own, and then set them on my bookshelf for me to decide.

They were as follows:

Mortal Engines

Dry

Sweep

I chose Sweep.

Sweep is my new book. I’m going to read it start to finish and then give you, our Bookish Friends, a full fledged review. Because we’re Bookish Productions, and reading is important.

And while we’re on the subject of books, why don’t I share a booklist for readers who might be coming out of a busy season and find they just want to read again? Wouldn’t it be nice to sit down, spring at your doorstep, and just enjoy a book?

Without further ado, I present: The Bookish List For Spring!

-Sweep by Jonathan Auxier (Haven’t read it yet, but I’m hoping it’ll be good!)

-Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes (I’ve heard most of it on audio, but not the whole thing. My family adored it however, so I can safely say it’s good XD) also by Jonathan Auxier

-Winnie’s Great War by Josh Greenhut and Lindsay Mattick

-Number The Stars by Lois Lowery

-The Willoughbys by Lois Lowery

-On The Edge Of The Dark Sea Of Darkness by Andrew Peterson

-The Green Ember by S.D. Smith

-The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street by Karina Yan Glaser

-Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfeild

-Little House in The Big Woods (I recommend the entire series as whole, it’s an excellent piece of literature)

None of these books are heavy, or hard to read; these are enjoyable, worthwhile, pieces of literary work that could be (and have been) read to the entire family.

So there you have it folks! Have a marvelous Tuesday and we’ll see you here on the blog TOMORROW, with a special announcement regarding a certain book, and a certain author. *winks*

And with that I wish you the best!

~Louise
