Intro
Ever since I have embarked on my GoodReads journey I have become more in the know about up coming books! And boy, there are quite a few new releases and upcoming releases that I want to read! So yes, Sarah Twilight is coming back to the blogging scene with a blog telling you of not one, not two, but TEN new and or up coming books!
World of Silence
By Kaytlin Phillips
Aaahhhhh! Yes, our girl Kaytlin Phillips is gonna release a book! I. Can. Not. Wait. For all to read this! The story follows Fledge Owenby, a deaf archer wishing to prove himself, and there’s a mute dragon with a cool name. These two beings form an unlikely friendship. I’m not going to say more because we’ll be part of a blog tour for that book, but keep it on your radar! It’s coming to take up that empty spot on your bookshelf.
Thief Liar Lady
D L Soria
So, picture this, Cinderella meets Leverage. In this book Cinderella and her stepfamily are a bunch of grifters (con-artists). When a ball comes up things get heated. There’s romance! There’s family drama! It’s a fairy tale retelling! Honestly, this angle on the Cinderella story is just so unique and epic!
A Crane Among Wolves
June Hur
Okay, so, June Hur is a master of historical fiction! To be more specific, Korean historical fiction. Seriously, kids should read this in school! Her books have really enlightened me on the history of the country of Korea. Our girl also specializes in writing mysteries set in historic Korea. A Crane Among Wolves is a mystery following a girl and a prince who must team up to the kingdom and the people the love. Now who is it that they are up against? King Yeonsangun, one of the most hated tyrants in Korean history! I’m on the edge of my seat! And this book doesn’t even come out till 2023! HOW CAN I WAIT THAT LONG?!!!!
Tokyo Dreaming
Emiko Jean
When I found out that one of my favorite books, Tokyo Ever After, was getting a sequel, I freaked out! Tokyo Ever After truly is a modern fairy tale with an amazing and hilarious main character. Izumi has never been able to fit into her mostly white town. Feeling to Japanese to be American and feeling too American to be Japanese, it truly is a tiring dilemma. Thankfully she has a great mom and a spunky group of friends! Her life gets crazy when she accidently finds out that her dad, who has never been in her life, is the prince of Japan, making her a princess! Izumi gets whisked away to Japan to meet her father and the rest of her family. The only bumps in the road are all the rules to be followed, the relatives who have it out for her, and her annoying bodyguard who is literally no fun. This was a fun book with clean romance and from the looks of it the sequel will expand upon the story in an epic way!
Once Upon a K-Prom
Kat Cho
Yah, I’m trash for all novels involving K-pop. Elena doesn’t want to go to prom, plain and simple. She’d rather work to save the local community center, the one place that made her feel like she belongs. Well, her plans change. She and her bestfriend Robbie made a promise to each other when they were kids that they’d take each other to prom. Robbie is now and international K-pop star who has proboably forgotten about that promise. Well he didn’t and now Elena must ignore haters, dodge paparazzi, and wonder if she is falling for Robbie.
The Noh Family
Grace K Shim
I’m also trash for novels with a K-drama element. Can we pause for a sec? I just gotta say that K-dramas (Korean dramas) are so pure compared to western media. Okay, un-pause. All her life Cloe Kang has had only her mother, her father having died in Seoul before she was born, now they live in Oklahoma. Cloe’s life changes forever when she does a DNA test and finds that she has a whole extended family in Seoul, Korea, on her dads side! They happen to be filthy rich and when they learn about Cloe they want to meet her. Cloe goes across the sea to spend two weeks with the Noh family. But every family has secrets and rich people have the most juicy ones.
Seoulmates
Susan Lee
Hannah Cho had her senior year planned out that starts off with a summer with her boyfriend, but her plans are ruined when her boyfriend leaves her, just like everyone else in her life seems to do. All her friends are newly obsessed with K-pop and K-drama (sound like anyone you know?) but Hannah couldn’t care less. Well someone comes back into her life who does care about K-dramas, in fact he’s starring in one. Jacob Kim was once her best friend and now he’s back in town for a break from fame. Hannah doesn’t want to see him but blackmail, a bucket list, and two meddlesome mamas are factors that change her plans drastically.
One Of Us Is Next
Karen M McManus
One Of Us Is Next is coming to round off the action at Bayview High! This book takes place after One Of Us Is Lying and One Of Us Is Next. I have only read One Of Us Is Lying (I own One Of Us Is Next just haven’t read it…story of my life lol). I One Of Us Is Lying five teens from different backgrounds and social circles end up doing detention togther…..only four teens live to tell the tale. All four teens have one thing in common, they all have deadly secrets that Simon was going to expose…..and maybe one of them is lying. (Real original Sarah. I have no regrets!)
Heart of the Sun Warrior
Sue Lynn Tan
I’d proboably buy this book just for the exquisite cover, but anyway. This rounds off a duology, the previous book being Duaghter of the Moon Goddess. This fantasy is inspired by the legend of Change’s, the Chinese moon goddess. Xingyin grew up on the moon in peaceful solitude, that is, until her magic flairs putting her on the raider of the Celestial Emporer, who exiled her mother after she stoll the elixir of immortality. Xingyin must now leave her mother behind and flee her home. This is a thick book and for good reason. Between the covers our girl has to travel the Celestial Kingdom in disguise, train alongside the emperors son, go on a quest to save her mother, and challenge the Celestial Emporer. Wow, how old is the main character again? Heart of the Sun Warrior looks like it will be just as long. What adventures will take place in this next instalment?
The Dragon’s Promise
Elizabeth Lim
This book is after Six Crimson Cranes. Shiori’anma, the only princess in her kingdom, has forbidden magic in her veins. But on the morning of her betrothal ceremony, she loses control. The good news is the dreaded wedding is pushed back, the bad news is this brings her magic to her evil stepmother. She banishes Shiori, turns her brothers into cranes, and places a terrible curse on her, with every word she speaks one of her brothers will die. Alone, with no money and no voice Shiori begins the search for her brothers, discovering a deadly conspiracy along the way. Her only allies are a paper bird, a shapeshifting dragon, and (plot twist) her betrothed. I’m excited to see where Elizabeth Lim takes us next in The Dragons Promise!

May 10, 2022 at 6:49 pmHey Sarah! Wow, all these look amazing and I’m going to have to check them out (especially June Hur, since I would love to know more about Korea.)
*high fives* Awesome!! I’m on Kayti’s book tour too! (seriously ordering a copy as soon as possible!).
By the way, I’m not familiar with K-dramas *hears collective gasp* Lol. How would you say they differ from western dramas? (curious minds are… well, curious *facepalm* Yeah, Lily, so original) XD.

May 11, 2022 at 8:55 pmI have only just embarked on K-dramas (I’m watching a series called Heirs) and already I can see some major differences from western dramas.
For one, the culture is way purer. I don’t think they ever mention sex. The romance takes longer but is sweet. It isn’t dragged out, but it isn’t rushed. It unfolds nicely and usually in a hilarious and heartwarming way.
2, Outfits tend to be modest compared to western styles.
3, the editing focuses more on capturing the emotions of the moment.
4, the way a series is described when you click on the about reminds me of how a book is described.
5, all together it’s different but in a good way.
Hope that answers your question Lily 😉
